March 29, 2010 letter- Transfer to Lujan!

Dear Family,

Hey there! I´m writing from my new area in Lujan, which is way far away from my last area. Everything is great! I had a little trouble packing my bags and got kind of frustrated - I had so much stuff they weren´t easy to close, but I finally managed to do it! And now I´m here with my new comp Elder Angulo from Chile, and all is well! And this email place is pretty nice...I think I´m going to like Lujan!

Lujan is way far away from my last area. I had to bring my bags to the offices, which meant that I had a good chance of getting shipped to country mission (that would be like ten hours away from my area), but luckily I was shipped to Lujan, which is still far away but not tons like that. But still, really far away. The area is cool, but there are no little maps that I can use to carry around and use to learn the area! I´m going to draw my own map I guess.

There´s a Walmart here!!!! Woohoo!!!!!! It´s far away, but I´m going to go there this next p-day. I´d like to go there to see if they sell some high quality things or not. I´m pretty sure they do. And our apartment is in like a middle-sized city, but there are bigger parts in other parts of Lujan. Yeah! And I´d be able to buy a coat if I need to. And yeah, at Walmart I´m going to need to buy a backpack to haul my stuff. My shoulder-bag doesn´t work very well when we have divisions and all that, because it doesn´t hold a lot.

So I lost my umbrella...that´s rather crappy news. I was paying for a taxi and I left it in the car, and I went back to look for it multiple times but the guy never returned it back, so either he took it or someone else who got a ride did. I feel pretty bad, because I know it was an extremely sweet umbrella, and that such items of quality aren´t really found here. I´m sorry I lost it :( I made the promise to myself that whenever I carry extra items like that, I’m ALWAYS going to put the strap around my wrist so that I´ll never leave without it again. I hope it doesn´t rain soon.

And the apartment is WAY dirty!!! Geez, I´m going to clean it up good. It´s a mess. I´ll need to buy some cleaning supplies, but those are way cheap. I´ll take the example of Dad and give it the "Dad treatment" today and during the week :).

That´s sweet with Michael Bublé! I wish I could see him live too - he has rocking music. You guys are lucky!!! Oh and thanks a million for the music - I left my MP5 at the offices so the guys there can load it up with music, and then after that I´m going to try again to download the music that you guys sent me so I can enjoy it (I love the classical CD Mom!!). Thanks so much for that stuff!!! I love you guys!! You sure do treat me nicely!

Other than that, it´s nice to be in a new area. I was able to get lots of people sign my book and take some pictures - yay! I´ll be sending you a lot of those pictures this next week. I´m sure going to miss a lot of them. There are some families, just as Brother Ahlander said, that have seen like 60 missionaries pass by so I was just another one, but others that were way sweet to me and that I have really good relationships with. Yay! I got all of the members like that to sign my book, and all is well! I´ll be writing them during the mission as well to keep in touch :).

The transfer meeting was good - 144 baptisms this transfer, so we lowered a bit. The last transfer we had 196, so we´ll work harder this transfer to try and get something like that.

I love you guys so much! Man Mom, I sure miss you :( and Dad too! And Carson! I sure love you all and I pray for you all the time and I hope you´re doing great. Thanks for everything you do for me, and for all the packages and all the support you give me - you are the best family in the world! Everything is fine with me and I´m really excited to work in this new area. I´ll work really hard so that you guys are all blessed a lot from the Lord. I love you and I´ll talk to you more in a week!

Love,
Elder Nuttall
